Double Cone Inclined Plane Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-PLE-10833
Quick Answer: The Double Cone Inclined Plane is a centre-of-gravity demonstration in which a double cone placed on two diverging bars appears to roll up the slope.
Last updated: October 2026
Key Features
Double cone that seems to roll uphill.
Inclined plane formed by diverging bars.
Demonstrates centre-of-gravity principles.
Cone's axis, through its centre of mass, actually moves downward.
About This Product
The bars rise towards one end but also spread apart, so as the cone rolls towards the higher end it sinks between them and its axis, which passes through the centre of mass, actually falls. Asking students to explain the apparent climb leads them to follow the centre of mass rather than the slope of the plane. Educational Lab Equipments can supply and export the Double Cone Inclined Plane to Dominican Republic, Armenia, Brunei, Mexico and Namibia.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the cone seem to roll uphill?
Although the plane slants upward, the bars diverge, so the rotational axis of the cone, which passes through the centre of mass, actually moves downward as it rolls.
What principle does it demonstrate?
Centre-of-gravity principles, shown by a cone whose centre of mass moves down even though it appears to climb.
